All the disciplines interact and affect the final experience.

Process

The audience experience is at its most intense when all the disciplines involved are in balance. This was not so easy to achieve, because the complex technology and interactions made for a rather sensitive production. The actors, technicians, designers, director, musician, and artist needed to work very closely together to achieve a convincing result.

INTERVIEW

"All the objects and people interact in the play. My animations, for example, are inspired by the concepts put forward by the set designer (Sanne Danz), which in turn can be the result of improvisations with actors, and then we take it from there. None of the disciplines overrules any of the others.” “Animation is not like normal film play. It involves a lot of complex software, which changes the creative process. In a normal production we only bring in the technicians in the last week, but this time the whole technology circus had to be involved from the very start. It was no use rehearsing a scene without the animations, as there would have been nothing to experience.” [Theater Magazine™ interview by Brechtje Zwaneveld]
